According to former NFL player Ralph Marston, “You've done it before and you can do it now. See the positive possibilities. Redirect the substantial energy of your frustration and turn it into positive, effective, unstoppable determination.” Marston’s quote is stating that with hard work and unstoppable determination, getting to the top will not be far away. In Unstoppable by Tim Green, the main character, Harrison, faces a tough challenge as an adopted child in a family that does not care about him. When he switches parents, his adopted father is a former player and is a football coach as well. This was perfect for Harrison and it helped him reach his goals. I believe that this book was good because it teaches how to overcome your tough luck.
The main character, Harrison is a perfect example of overcoming obstacles. He overcame the first adoptive parents that beat him as well as made him do excessive chores and things that they could have simply done. He then reports this to the adoption center and gets his parents switched. He gets a father who is a former football player and coach, which can help him get better at his game as well as his attitude. His adoptive father helps him improve his game so well that he gets a spot on the junior high school football team.
At about halfway through the book, Harrison is diagnosed with bone cancer and has to face all of the cancer difficulties as well as trying to play football. Harrison then gets his leg amputated and has to go through all of the treatment and therapy. His life completely takes a 180 degree turn for the worse. He literally has to switch to just surviving on a regular day basis. This book definitely refers to the title Unstoppable because it does not just refer to when you are down in the fourth quarter; it mainly refers to being unstoppable in life when it completely turns on you and showing your perseverance in life.
Unstoppable by Tim Green was a good book and surprised me with the twists and turns it put my through while reading. I believed it was just about an orphan, who is attempting to reach his goal in the NFL, but Tim Green completely changed the plot and Harrison went through a rough rollercoaster. I would definitely recommend this book to any sort of athlete or someone looking for a good book to read.
